I don't actually know a single word of Amharic. I have a half-ethiopian friend, but I don't get to talk to her much. I created the page by studying other country articles to work out all the different terminology. And I made a computer program that lets me convert a page from syllabics into the latin alphabet (it works on any language, not just Ethiopian) so I can read it (even if I don't know what it means). It was fun trying to work out how to write the different names in the ethiopic script. The names of the languages I got from the front page.
I'll have a go at other countries when I have time.
