OK, I'm sorry. It was a test for a new article. Also, Liv and Maddie wasn't the only article deleted last year that had an incorrect title. There were also incorrect titles for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Brother Bear. The Brother Bear article used an inconsistent mix of translation and transliteration while the article on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs only called it Snow White. Can you tell me what their correct titles should be? Bambi (talk) 16:48, 18 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply
The Amharic versions of those titles might not always be consistent, in some cases like 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' I would go with transliteration (ስኖው ዋይት ኤንድ ዘ ሰቨን ድዋርቭዝ) rather than try to translate it. 'Brother Bear' might be ብረዘር ቤር or possibly translated ወንድም ድብ...? Til Eulenspiegel (talk) 17:01, 18 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply
I created the articles logged out. But can you help me translate the following text? Liv and Maddie, titled Liv and Maddie: Cali Style in its fourth season, is an American comedy television series that originally aired on Disney Channel from July 19, 2013 to March 24, 2017. Also I found the page 15 January by clicking random article and found the title was in English and not Amharic, so I changed it. I also changed 19 January for the same reason, because it too was in English. Is there a reason why they were in English or do they need to be moved? Bambi (talk) 04:01, 19 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply
I changed the other January pages as well. I wanted to add to ስኖው ዋይት ኤንድ ዘ ሰቨን ድዎርፍስ that it was Disney's first film. Did I get that right? Bambi (talk) 14:25, 19 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply
Months in the Gregorian calendar are typically referred to by their English names, which can appear in either alphabet, so there is no need to move or change those articles. Very few Amharic speakers would be unable to read Latin letters if they have had any schooling, and in much Amharic material, some English terms are often written in the Latin alphabet, though they can also be phonetically transliterated.
Here is my translation of that text: "ልቭና ማዲ፣ በአራተኛውም ዙር ልቭና ማዲ፣ ካሊ ስታይል ተብሎ፣ ከ19 July 2013 እስከ 24 March 2017 እ.ኤ.አ. ድረስ በመጀመርያ በዲዝኒ ቻነል የታየ አሜሪካዊ አስቂኝ የቴሌቪዥን ተከታታይ ፊልም ነው።" Til Eulenspiegel (talk) 14:30, 19 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply

ልቭና ማዲ ለማስተካከል

I moved ልቭ ኤንድ ማዲ to ልቭና ማዲ based on your post. But here's what I don't know: if it would be better to use transliteration instead. Here's why: it's inconsistent with the title Liv and Maddie: Cali Style to use transliteration for Cali Style and translation for Liv and Maddie. But I didn't know if the transliteration I posted was correct. Was it? I moved the article for that reason, because it seemed like it needed correcting. Thoughts? I moved it back in case it was wrong. Bambi (talk) 16:22, 26 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply
I doubt this will be of much concern to our Amharic readership, but I suppose in this case it looks better to transliterate 'and' along with every other word in 'Liv and Maddie: Cali Style', as it is now. Til Eulenspiegel (talk) 18:19, 26 ጃንዩዌሪ 2018 (UTC)Reply
